Based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Larry McGonegal brings more than two decades of markets experience to The ReThink Group.
His trading career began at FXCM in New York, where he spent a decade building the firm’s CFD trading desk from the ground up into one of its most significant sources of revenue and P&L. In 2013, he founded Argosy Global Advisors, providing outsourced risk-management and liquidity services to FX brokerages, before serving as CEO of Settler Trading and co-founding Praxis Digital Trading Group in 2019, where he remained until 2024. Presently, he is the founder of New Shore Trading.
His extensive background across market-making, risk management, and execution gives him a practitioner’s view of liquidity, positioning, and the pressures traders face in real time, a perspective that grounds the firm’s thinking in how markets actually behave day to day. In his free time, Larry enjoys golf as much as a sane man can, traveling extensively with his family and is not only an avid college basketball fan, but coaches a local high school basketball team.
